Neodandi Couture, a clothing line designed by Niirlatey De Osu was on display at a private trunk show hosted last week. Niirlatey is philosophical and conceptual in his approach to design. He knows his stuff when discussing high fashion and knows where he breaks away. On the one hand, he uses conventional fabrics like cotton and on the other, materials used in building insulation. The result is a hybrid of a post modern, chic urban wear that's been married to something tribal in feel. Hip hop meets Arabian Nights. For those who love turning heads, Neodandi Couture is worth looking into. The styles are indeed avant-garde, and very cool.
The party was attended by members of the local media as well as NYC based writer for www.spire.com, Chantal McLaughlin, who after doing a Google search came up with Subterfuge and contacted us in hopes of having a good time in Seattle... and we delivered! A night at a local conceptual fashion house with farrier to the fancy set, Seth Noble, who was a model for the evening, his wife Sarah, Subterfuge editor; dinner at Spur Gastropub ; and clubbing with a very single polo player and businessman Cameron Smith. The model photographed here was all the rage at the trunk show and to passersby, who were more than happy to view the collection, reminding us that Seattle is oh-so-quaint even at a fashion event downtown. Although we don't imagine we will ever be that kind of town, our visiting friend from the Big Apple got a kick out of the stir that was caused...
