Subterfuge's T.s. Flock and Sarah Caples spent the night of July 15th partying in support of good causes with friend and stylist Rebecca Luke, the queen of sustainable style (See Sustainable Style Foundation). The beautiful summer evening led them to Shucker's for oysters where they enjoyed lighthearted conversation followed by an easy stroll to the Columbia Tower Club where friends Victor Lombardi and Marianna Veress hosted a fundraiser for The Nature Conservancy, which is working to save animals affected by the Gulf oil spill. Count on this fun-loving gang of partiers to deliver—$9,000 was raised! It's one thing for Vogue to have Hamish Bowles, but sometimes we wonder how Seattle got lucky enough to have writer T.s. Flock decide to call our rainy city his home. His quirky style, brilliant writing, and unparalleled use of language makes Mr. Flock one of the best people to have in our posse—a dandy bohemian. He amused us all with his ironically chosen Diesel vest and parasol at the party. We'd also like to congratulate Lisa Stephenson pictured with Flock on completing her exams for The Court of Master Sommeliers.

Sarah Caples and Marianna Veress at The Oil Spill Wildlife Rescue Fundraiser: These women avidly support are engaged in mutual efforts to cultivate a Seattle culture that supports non-profits and the arts and allows people build a genuine community and lasting friendships. Marianna is well known for her work on the Bravo! Club Board for the Seattle Opera and for throwing her fabulous parties at The Columbia Tower Club. She has recently agreed to be a table captain for Providence O'Christmas Trees fundraiser The Silver Bells Luncheon, which will be chaired this year by Sarah Caples and feature a fashion show by Luly Yang.

Stylist Rebecca Luke (posing here with Dawn Lash, friend, and Marianna Veress), fellow stylist Sarah Caples, and T.s. Flock managed to enjoy a second party later in the evening held by Cassis Catering Company at Georgetown Studios. Some may remember the fabulous French restaurant Cassis on Capitol Hill which has closed and become a catering company. The beautiful summer party included music by jazz band, Black Lab Trio , gorgeous linens by Liza Ragan's Choice Linens. Jef Fike was a gracious host and guests enjoyed delicious fare created by Chef Charlie Durham. With the aid of event planner Niki McKay from Blue Danube Productions, the partners created a lovely ambiance in the cool industrial space while fans of the former restaurant relived the classic European taste they had come to love before the restaurant's closing. Some of the passed dishes included gougères of gruyere and chive and duck liver custard—sophisticated flavors, but not overly rich as one might suspect. The lavish buffet had multiple entree selections, including beouf bourgiugnon, roasted cod with ratatouille, coq au vin, and braised pork belly with lentils, vinegar and herbs. One of the greatest crowd pleasers was a perfect and inspired summer dish—a cool cantaloupe salad that refreshed the palate even as it sent one's tastebuds into seventh heaven.

It was a full and fulfilling night of food, fellowship, and drink while serving a good cause. Thanks to all who made the events happen and all the guests who made it truly special.
