There is a lot happening at Oslo’s- A Men’s Store, especially on night when John McDowell, owner extraordinaire, throws a party just for the fun of it. Handsome, scotch drinking men peruse the store that holds such variety it is a testament to McDowell’s description of the place, “We’re just your average guy’s store” - that is of course, if you consider the average guy cool and fashionable.  If you don’t, a trip to Oslo’s will solve the problem. McDowell is excited about new merchandise from Gant, Taylor Vintage, Alp-n-Rock, which he was wearing, and Theory.  Professors, rock-n-rollers, lumberjacks, businessmen and bellwethers will all find something here.

John McDowell chats with dapper guest Gary Vitalone

Spotted in the crowd were Sergey Smirnov, a board member of The Henry; Oslo, staring wistfully at the refreshment tables; Tim Gill; and fashionable couple Rick and Heidi Ward, such Oslo devotees, they bring their children to Oslo’s for haircuts. The sexy in-store barber is Chad Oringer- he’s also a boxer and does some mean karaoke (according to the rumors).  He’ll give you “The Royal” treatment- this involves a rose clay mask, or “The Traditional”, a good, old-fashioned shave.

Oslo’s will soon be celebrating their 4th anniversary- I suggest visiting their engaging website to learn more about the store that has consistently won awards since it’s opening in 2005.
