All Things Summer...I’m only slightly obsessed with the Christian Dior Spring 2010 makeup looks. I mean, I can barely breathe when I look at the bright aqua eye shadow, the pleasantly pink cheeks…I love summer. So, what else is on the summer makeup horizon?
I took a stroll through Nordstrom’s makeup offerings- I was stopped in my tracks at the Estée Lauder counter. Estée Lauder has come out with a water-proof line of makeup, including a non-water proof but a water resistant bronzy blush. If you can handle the ultra rich eye colors (“shadow” is not the correct description for these liquid wonders) grab them while they last. If you can’t handle the color…well, find a makeup artist and figure it out. MAC has a very cute summer collection. I am a huge fan of interesting/colorful product packaging, so the “ocean” theme and bright orange casing caught my eye.

Make sure you stop by the Dior counter- they have a beautiful luggage tag that serves as a lip gloss container- simply open it. Travel just keeps getting easier.
Take a look at the Chanel’s Resort Wear 2010 collection. Too many are looking to The Hills and paparazzo shots of lame celebrities on the beach as style guides. It’s a pity. The solution? Intellegent style. Seattle is cool enough, figuratively and metaphorically to handle these looks:

Imagine wearing this to dinner after a day at the beach. Male or female these looks are respectable and lighthearted. Seattleites, in spite of being casual, can feel chic, comfortable, and accountable. Personally, I’m all about the bows.

Talking Swimwear…
Stella McArtney (a favorite of mine and many eco conscious starlets) has a beautiful line as well. She’s made some of the loveliest swimsuits I’ve seen since in awhile. I’m a huge fan of the retro suit. There is something to be said for leaving something to the imagination, and McArtney makes old-fashioned modesty thoroughly modern.
I’ve been browsing through some other offerings (just in case you aren’t in love with everything I am) and have found some very cool suits featured on the Vogue website. Check it out at: http://www.vogue.com/mostwanted/052010_Swimsuits_Capri/
